When I started studying film and television, I figured it would be very different. I thought I would learn a lot, but it didn’t: (It’s a university career that needs to take practice to the field. That is why the film career aims to specialize people in different areas of production and creation of cinematographic works.
In theoretical subjects, such as film appreciation, the course can create a “standard” and do a better measure of the learning of each student. But like most, the career has many practical subjects. They do not manage to develop well and I am sure that at most 20% of my colleagues have a practical handling of the equipment. Perhaps it is because teachers did not study to be teachers, they are audiovisual producers who teach classes in their spare time and there is no planning for them.
Classes are a kind of game. We play experiment with the equipment. And the only way to learn is to be part of the system, play and have other colleagues who know more, teach you or just watch tutorials on Youtube.
Besides that it is a very broad career, there are many production departments and the curriculum is very wide. so you can’t see in detail each and with the pandemic. . . . even less
